Stolen But Not Gone

As you are probably aware from Facebook, my iPhone was stolen (and my GPS) from Robert's car during boot camp last week. I was (am) super pissed to have our window broken and my belongings stolen, but I was maybe more pissed about losing all my info and pictures on my phone (and about having my address saved on the GPS, scary).

I borrowed an iPhone 4 from my cousin yesterday and when I did the setup, I was asked if I wanted to restore to my most recent iCloud backup. Turns out, since I had iCloud backup turned on for my stolen phone, it had backed up everything on my phone wirelessly the night before it got stolen. I was able to retrieve everything, pictures, folder setups, contacts, all of it.

I would HIGHLY recommend backing up to iCloud if you are able to on your iPhone. It totally made this crappy situation so much better, maybe not monetarily, but it's just one less thing I have to fret about now.

Thank you Apple for creating iCloud!

(PS - yes I will post soon about all the other million things going on since my last long ago post)
